Chana Pulao is a tasty and spicy Punjabi rice preparation with Chana cooked in masala. This dish will surely boost your taste buds.


Ingredients
Chick Peas 1 cup
Rice 3 cups, washed and soaked.
SaltClick to find more about Salt 1 1/2 tsp
Cumin seedsClick to find more about Cumin seeds 2 tbsp
KalonjiClick to find more about Kalonji 1 � tsp
Garam masala sabat 1 tbsp
OnionClick to find more about Onion small peeled and chopped
Cooking oil about 1/2 cup


Preparation
Heat oil in sauce pan and add onions.
Fry for till about golden brown
Now add the garam masala and cumin seedsdry ingredients and stir.
Now add 6 cups of water, for every cup of rice the ratio of water is double.Let the water boil.
Now add the saltClick to find more about salt and washed rice.
When the water boils up with the rice, put on an air tight lid and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes.(boiling time may vary)
When the water dissapears, reduce the heat to very low, and cook for another few minutes.
After you turn the stove off, let it sit for another few minutes before removing the lid
The rice is now ready to be served.

The chick peas will go in the pot after frying the garam masala and cumin seeds. You have to soak the chick peas over night n then boil it with a pinch of baking soda in pressure cooker from 7_8 mins. You can use canned chick peas if u want to.

receipe not well described. do not know canned chickpes or soaked one. when to add. pls do the needful.

for every cup of rice add 2 cups of water add the chick peas befor the rice and water

it also says to add 6 cups of water for every cup of rice. that cannot be right. And why does it tell you to add the water to the oil and onions? That will splatter everywhere.
